Last days in Geneva
Kate Salvatierra Peru,
It’s my last day in Geneva and I’m feeling sad. I’ve been living the last month in a welcome centre (as I mentioned before) and sharing with delegates from all over the world and I must say these last two weeks were the best of my stay here...

Last weekend Rajib and me went to Paris and visited all the turistic places there. Paris....what a beautiful city! After our trip he left Geneva but we’ll meet again in Bern next week.
After I got familiar with ATD and Tapori’s work I really enjoyed being there and attend to the meetings trying very hard to understand what people were saying.
As I mentioned in a past article the Swiss system is very complex and each canton has ist own. The last weeks I learnt about Geneva’s health and social aid system by attending a meeting and talking to social workers in the city.
Yesterday, friday 18th, was my last day at ATD’s so the whole staff got together for lunch and I brought ’tamales’ – a peruvian dish- to share with them, we talked a lot about my stay there, plans fort he future, experiences, etc. We had a nice time.
As I said, these were two very good weeks but I had some problems too. First my laptop broke down with all my information inside, I recieved some bad news from Lima, the internet network wasn’t working for several days, and the worst part: I’m leaving.
Don’t take it wrong. I love the idea of going back home but at the same time I can’t help thinking: I finally get use to this and it’s time to leave.
Now I’m preparing my luggage to leave, I decided to leave on saturday instead of sunday because the centre is empty and since there’s no internet conection I can’t do my work.
I’m getting myself ready for the last week in Switzerland!
